dear hawaii: i love you so

I first came to Hawaii when I was 16. That first morning we ran out to admire waves from the point and then hopped in the car for an afternoon at Waimea. There's been nothing better since. But I'm afraid I've turned into a bit of a beach snob. When I went to California in August, I stuck to sunbathing at the pool and riding my bike next to the beach, but I had no desire to set up camp on that sand or touch a toe to that frigid water.

Beaches of the world, I'm sure you're great! But oh how I just love my Hawaii.
